Certificate of Professional Competency (CPC):
According to Presidential Decree 74/2008, professional drivers who have concluded the required initial or periodic CPC training successfully, in accordance with the provisions thereof, are consequently allowed to drive road vehicles of a specific category or subcategory to carry passengers or goods, provided that they also hold a valid driving license pertaining to the specific category or subcategory.
The CPC involves passenger transport or freight transport.
Passenger transport CPC includes vehicle subcategories and categories D1, D1+E, D, D+E.
Freight transport CPC includes vehicle categories and subcategories C1, C1+E, C, C+E.
In order for professional drivers to prove that they are CPC holders, they are required to hold a valid CPC Card, in accordance with this Decree, or to hold a driving license carrying the indication of the Community code ‘95’ next to one or more of the subcategories or categories: C1, D1, C1+E, D1+E, C, D, C+E, D+E.
CPC Scope
a. Greek nationals or nationals of an EU Member State or an EFTA State (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein);
b. Non-EU nationals, who are employed or used by an undertaking established in Greece or in an EU Member State are required to hold, in addition to a valid driving license, a CPC for carrying passengers which is issued in accordance with
the provisions of this Decree, regarding vehicles of subcategories D1, D1+E or categories D, D+E.
